Well Quinn and Gavin are excited for tomorrow......Mimi and Pa Joe come to town. While they are only planned to stay a few days I'm sure Quinn will have them going non-stop while they're here. We've had little success with getting pictures taken to send out for x-mas pictures or x-mas cards so if you receive them a little late it's because we are dealing with the attitude of a 2yr old. If it's not his shirt, it's his pants we can't keep on him. Here are a few of the feeble attempts at pictures, not to mention the huge scene we made at the photographers in the mall........We didn't stick around for those proofs, sorry!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Happy Holidays to you all! Quinn has really gotten into the x-mas spirit this year. Last weekend he helped mommy bake x-mas cookies that his great grandma Will used to make for his mommy. His favorite part is breaking the eggs! Today Quinn got to stay home from school and go x-mas tree hunting with his dad. Boy o' boy, xmas trees sure are expensive out here in the desert!! But we got it up this evening when Gavin and mommy got home from work as you can see by the photo. Hope your all staying warm in the arctic Midwest, it was 73 degrees today here but a little windy. Hopefully, it will stay nice like this for when Mimi and Pa Joe come so Quinn can drag them outside with him. He'd live outside if we'd let him! Take care and should have Santa pics soon!!

It's been a while!

So sorry it's been so long since our last post. Not a whole lot of new details to report. As you can see by the photos Quinn is beginning his acclamation to "big boy" underwear. It is a slow process so far but one we hope to conquer quickly once daycare consistently works with him on this transition. Gavin just continues to grow by leaps and bounds! He's making more and more noises every day with his cooing. Thanksgiving was quite nice. By the looks of Gavins pic he looks like he got into the wine at dinner. It was just the 4 of us but we had fun cooking together and watching football. Quinn found a new favorite in pumpkin pie!! He couldn't get enough of it!! Hope you all enjoy the new pics and we'll try and stay up on the posts a little better!!

Happy Halloween!

Sorry it's been so long since our last post. Last weekend we went to the Irish Festival in Phoenix and had a blast! Quinn wouldn't leave the dance floor when it was time for the Irish girls dance club to begin. He was also quite shocked at the size of the Irish wolfhounds we saw as well. His immediate comment was Woooooooowwww, as he stood nose to nose with them when he was in his stroller. It was a little warmer than normal it actually got up into the low 90's on Saturday but that didn't keep Quinn from running like a wild man all over the large grassy park the festival was located in. Dad just had to keep buying overpriced lemonade at 5 bucks a whack! Monday was not such a good day. We got a phone call from the day care that Quinn was "violently ill" and so we had to go pick him up. Must have been a 24hr bug of some sort. He continued to get sick when we got him home but today (Tuesday) he was his usual self as he got to stay home from school and torment his father all day. We weren't sure how Quinn would take to "trick or treating". Our thought was he'd just go to the immediate neighbors in our cult-a-sac and come home. Once he got out there in the swing of things he didn't want to come home! He wouldn't say trick or treat but he always said Hi, Bye, and Thank you at every stop. Gavin on the other hand didn't make it past pictures as he fell asleep as usual. Quinn and Gavin have another new friend........Nathan Patrick Nightingale. He was born Monday, 6lbs 4oz and 19in long.

Go IRISH!

Well after Quinn's quick read of the newspaper this morning, he and his watched the ND game. How exciting. Quinn really gets into the games! He'll yell at the TV, moan and gasp like he can't believe what's happening. It's hilarious! We are really working hard on using the "Big Boy" pottie. Only one accident today in the pull up! Yeah!! Not bad for the first day! His arm seems to be on its way to healing, although he's not liking wearing a bandage during the day on it or taking the antibiotic. Tomorrow we are going to the air and balloon show in Goodyear with Quinn's friends Jake and Matt Nightingale. The boys should really get a kick out of the Blue Angels. Hopefully Gavin can sleep through all the noise.

Being Parents

Today we woke up Gavin had fallen asleep in our bed, Quinn woke up this morning and joined us, good thing we have a California King! We are laying there trying to catch another 10 minutes of sleep, when all of a sudden Quinn gets sick all over the bed! GOOD MORNING!!! The day went pretty well until... Quinn and Daddy went to get the mail around 4:00 pm and saw a dog out side the house that looked lost, so Daddy being a good neighbor got the dog, and called the owners on his tag, as the owner was right down the street to pick up the dog, the dog scratch/bite Quinn on his arm, Daddy said it happened so fast he is not really sure, if the dog actually scratched or bite Quinn, needless, to say we brought him inside he is screaming of course. Washed the arm off, because the dog broke skin!!! Daddy called the neighbors to make sure the dog has all of its shots. So I took Quinn to the Urgent Care, not bad 26 months old and our first visit, and I'm sure it won't be our last!!! Quinn is doing OK, all we can pray for is that tomorrow is a better day!!!

Pumpkin Fun!

Last night Quinn got to carve pumpkins for the first time!! What fun he had. It took a little while to get used to that "gushie" feeling when he was cleaning out the inside but as soon as his Dad showed him how to make that stuff splat on the newspaper, we had pumpkin pieces everywhere! Quinn even carved one for his brother, Gavin. He then put them outside to wait for Halloween to arrive!.....Hope they last that long!!!

Buzzz

We'll Quinn's hair was reaching the unmanageable length of about an inch and a half so his mom decided it was time to break out the clippers. As you can see though in the before and after photos it took a little bribery. That poor kid is cursed with his fathers dreadful hair! Although this "do" seems to fit him quite nice. I'll spare him the scaring childhood nightmare of being called "fuzzy" as older women rub his head. Thankfully Gavin doesn't seem to have gotten this gene! Quinn is really getting better each and every day with piecing together sentences. Today's was, "no, no, dada. dat not nice". Not sure what could have elicited such a response. I guess he really wasn't into sharing that sucker, Ha!

Painting Day

Quinn got to stay home from school today to help mommy and daddy paint the kitchen and living room. His favorite part was pulling off the edging tape. He kept us cracked up with his Ooohhs and Aaahhhs as we painted all day. He is really doing well with going out back and playing outside by himself. Although, I'm sure he can't wait to take his little brother out there as well. At one point we caught him trying to punt the football over the back wall into the neighbors yard. He just loves playing outside!! It doesn't matter what time of day either. Tonight he grabbed his dad by the hand and led him to the door asking to go outside in his pj's. Gavin is graduating to his bed upstairs tonight! We'll let you know how that goes.

Sunday's a fun day!

Today started out bright and early again this morning as Quinn was wide awake and ready to start the day at 5:30am. He loves to wake up and run into his Dad's room and wake him up. Gavin has slept through the night now for the second night in a row!! YIPPEE!! Soon he'll be upstairs in his own room and he and his brother can take turns waking each other up. Quinn got a special package from his Uncle Rudy. He wasn't too sure about it though when we inflated it. In fact, he broke down screaming when we layed Gavin down next to Frank. Poor little guy was deathly afraid for his little bro, he kept running up to Frank and would kick at his arms and head in an attempt to get him away from his brother all the while running away himself in fright. Today however, Quinn has a new friend. When we went downstairs this morning he grabbed Frank by the leg and pulled him into the family room and began body slamming him and laughing all the while. WOW, what a difference a day makes!

The Pups 1st Blog!

Robin suggested we get rolling on this so here is our attempt at keeping everyone informed as to the adventures of Quinn and Gavin. Gavin is now 6 wks old. At his 1 month doctors appt. he weighed in at 12lbs 1oz. and 21 1/2 in. Quinn didn't weigh 12 lbs until he was 2 mos old. Gavins quickly learning to keep a close eye on his bother considering he took a football off the head the 1st day he came home. Quinn is really doing great with his new brother! He can't give him enough kisses and doesn't understand why we can't keep him awake all the time. He's also decided that throwing balls isn't enough so he is now punting footballs and soccer balls. The latest nerf football is leaving blue marks on the ceiling. Guess we need to find this 2 year old more structured activities.
